Best Paper at COMSNETS CVAD Workshop
Abstract
VORTEX CoLab proudly unveils its latest research masterpiece at the distinguished conference COMSNETS 2024 hosted in the vibrant city of Bengaluru, India. The research article, titled “STRIVE: A Co-Simulation-Based Testing Platform Enhanced with Runtime Monitors” presented in the Connected and Autonomous Driving (CVAD) workshop within the COMSNETS 2024 conference. Also, we are thrilled to announce that our paper secured “Best Paper Award”.
Automotive systems are becoming more complex. Safety of automated driving vehicles is one of the crucial issues. Hence, it is essential to ensure and validate the safe behavior of such vehicles. Autonomous Driving Systems are achieving new technological heights at a very fast pace, so, Verification and Validation toolchain must be at that technological level as these systems are. Hence, there is an urgent need for modern Verification and Validation techniques.
Our study addresses these challenges and offers a solution in the form of Verification and Validation Platform for Autonomous Driving Systems. In which, we have contributed; 1) an approach that integrates multiple simulators forming a co-simulator, allows to test different aspects of Autonomous Driving Systems through co-simulation-based testing, runtime monitoring which offers the continuous observation of the system which helps to identify runtime errors, and continuous integration. 2) A novel micro-service-based reference architecture that enables the monitoring of co-simulation-based testing; and 3) a dynamic verification model that illustrates the monitoring of autonomous vehicle behavior in an urban intersection.
This research is a testament to our commitment to staying ahead in the world of connected vehicles and autonomous driving. At the conference, our research engineer shared insights that got everyone talking, sparking engaging discussions among industry peers. Our aim is to push the boundaries and shape the future of autonomous driving. If you’re curious to dive into the details, you can check out the full research paper at link.
